Books Over Basketball (B.O.B.) is one of the first of many programs elevated by Youth Elevated Alliance (YEA). It’s an elite basketball program which is designed to identify the top student-athletes in Central Louisiana and surrounding areas. B.O.B. is dedicated to providing the very best training, competition and environment for young student-athletes who have a desire to be the best. As of now, B.O.B. has one team, and in the future, is looking to succeed to have teams from grades 6th-12th, in both boys and girls

B.O.B. Basketball Team is based out of St. Martin Parish, Louisiana and consists of some of the top student-athletes of Central Louisiana and surrounding states. Over the past year we have been a local travel basketball team that travels to different states giving the upcoming student-athletes of Central Louisiana the opportunity to see the world and broadcast their amazing talents amongst some of the top talent across the world. In addition to our top notch basketball program, B.O.B. operates a mentoring program designed to help student athletes with academics, teach life skills through the game of basketball, enhance leadership qualities and encourage community service.

MISSION

Books Over Basketball is a program that combines education and athletics to empower young people to succeed in school, on the court, and in life. Provide educational resources, support, and opportunities to promote academic success. Offer basketball training, coaching, and competition to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Foster personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence among participants.

GOALS

Short-Term Goals
1. Establish partnerships with local schools, community centers, and basketball leagues.
2. Develop and implement after-school tutoring and basketball programs.
3. Host workshops and events promoting education, literacy, and healthy lifestyles.
 
Long-Term Goals
1. Improve academic outcomes and graduation rates among participating student-athletes.
2. Increase access to higher education and career opportunities for program participants.
3. Foster a culture of teamwork, discipline, and community engagement among young people.
